Situated in the downtown area, the seven storey Hilton Cairns is a modern waterfront hotel set overlooking the Coral Sea at the Trinity Inlet. The 263 guestrooms feature contemporary decor with tropical influences, and extend to balconies with sea or mountain views. All are equipped with Sony PlayStations, minibars, tea and coffee making facilities and satellite television with pay movies and Internet connections.
Guests can stroll in the hotel's tropical gardens, which feature a 50 metre outdoor heated pool complete with spa tub, sun loungers and complimentary towels. Health conscious guests can work out on cardiovascular and weight machines in the fitness room and then unwind with a sauna and massage, or brave the plunge pool. The informal restaurant offers views of the mountains and serves healthy breakfasts, seafood buffets and a constantly changing regional table d'hote menu, accompanied by a selection of Australian wines. Coffee, paninis and pastries are served in Caffe Cino, and guests can enjoy cocktails, seafood and exotic fruit at the Mondo waterfront caf�. A grassed playground is available for children aged 12 and under. Staff at the 24 hour front desk can provide around the clock room service, store valuables in the safe deposit box and book tickets for shows, trips and sightseeing excursions in the area. Motorists will find 128 parking spaces located under the hotel (surcharge). Five kilometres from the hotel, guests can board the Kuranda Scenic Railway, which travels through 34 kilometres of lush rainforest, passing deep gorges and thundering waterfalls along the way. Adventurous guests can don scuba gear and explore the Great Barrier Reef, one of the natural wonders of the world, 20 kilometres from the hotel. Cairns International Airport is 12 kilometres away, with an approximate driving time of 10 minutes.

Book a stay for travel through December 15, 2007, and receive a voucher for a chance to win one of 20 half carat diamonds. Upon arrival, guests will be presented with a voucher and invitation to visit Hardy Brothers Jewelers. Once at the jewelers, guests will be presented with a tray of stones, including half carat diamonds and cubic zirconias. Once a stone has been selected, it will be examined by the store's gemologist. Several bus services operate regularly between the airport and Cairns city centre. The Airporter service stops at major hotels in the city. Taxis are also available (typical fare to the hotel 15 AUD). Most of the major attractions in Cairns can be reached on foot. The Cairns Public Bus service connects the suburbs, the beaches and the city. Taxis are readily available at taxi ranks, and can also be hailed in the street. A car is recommended for travelling beyond the city.
Driving directions: From the airport, follow the exit road until Sheridan Street. Turn left into Sheridan Street, heading south until Spence Street. At Spence Street, turn left and follow until the end. The hotel is on the left.
